Wow, here I am!

I did something really crazy and amazing at the same time. A couple of months ago I decided I needed a change in scenery. I wanted to do something adventurous. Something I have always wanted to do. TRAVEL! I really did not think that travel nursing would be an option for me since I have a husband and three kids, but the more I researched the more I realized this was an obtainable option. It was a now or never decision. My kids are not too old. Not being completely attached to friends. My oldest only having one more year until dreaded middle school where friends may become the center of his life and dragging him away from them could be potentially devastating to him. My younger two are so young that they really don't care where they are as long as mom and dad are in arms reach. Most important my husband is not stuck in a job that he can not leave. My very loving and supportive husband was completely on board with my insanity. In fact he was pushing me to jump off the cliff and pursue my dreams of traveling. So I did it I put my interest into a website.

The next day my phone was ringing off the hook. Recruiters calling me wanting me to sign up with them. I decided I wanted to go far far away. So Hawaii and its sandy beaches started calling my name. A couple weeks later a NM from Hawaii called and gave me a job offer. I talked with my husband and he said go for it. Little did we know how much work it would be to just move from our house we have lived in for the last 6 years. We also had to find temporary homes for our cat and dog and try to rent out our home. We had less than a month to get it all done. Where there is a will there is a way. We had faith in God that this was his will for us and that we would find renters and homes for our pets and be able to get it all done with in a few weeks. My husband is so wonderful he did most of the work and cared for our kids. I had to leave before my kids and husband so he could finish packing and rent out the house.

My husband sold his car and motorcycle on Craigslist- here is the last good-bye to his beloved car!

Now I am here in Hawaii. God is good and faithful. Our house has rented out. Praise the lord not sure what we would have done if it did not. My husband with the help of many dear friends packed every thing we owned into boxes and cleaned the house for the renters.  Now I have been in Hawaii for almost three weeks and my husband and kids will be joining me in just a couple days. I will tell more about the Island and details of travel nursing in my future blogs. I will also post lots of pictures for you to enjoy as soon as the other half of my brain arrives and shows me how :) -Aloha- and Ke Akua pu a hui hou
